Emphasis in News-Editorial
The news-editorial emphasis provides students with the opportunity to obtain a liberal arts education and equips graduates with the intellectual background and professional skills required for entry-level positions and careers in print media journalism, especially community newspapers. The graduate with this major emphasis should possess competencies in news writing and have an understanding of journalistic law and media ethics. Required courses in the major (39 sh)
